Billy the Kid is a cowboy hat-wearing, gun-toting goat. His friend Oscar happens to be an ostrich, and the sheriff of the town. Together they solve mysteries, throw bad guys in the slammer, and keep the wild west safe for all the animals.

As an example of the series, in “A Strangle Hold,” when a famous murder mystery writer visits the town and his host turns up dead, it’s up to Billy and Oscar to determine the real culprit.

This series also contains short stories highlighting characters such as Willie the Worm, Benny Beaver, Fuzzy Bear, and others also featured in Fawcett’s Funny Animals.
